The exhibition of graphic posters “Life of Extraordinary Cats”
Warsaw, May 11, 2010. The second Polish exhibition of graphic posters "LIFE OF EXTRAORDINAY CATS" by the Minsk artist Sergey Stelmashonok was opened on the 11th of May in the Belarusian Embassy in Warsaw.
The representatives of Belarusian organizations and the diplomatic body, as well as the cultural elite of Poland and Belarus took part in the opening ceremony. Viktor Gaisenok, the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus in Poland, opened the exhibition by an opening speech in which he mentioned the ardour of the artist, his gentle irony and positive philosophy.
The artist Sergey Stelmashonok introduced the guests if the exhibition to his creative works and ability to turn ordinary cats into extraordinary ones. The artist was very grateful to Viktor Gaisenok, the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus, for the honour to exhibit his posters in the reception hall of the Belarusian Embassy. He also expressed his gratitude to the Embassy workers and the directorate of the Belarusian Cultural Centre in Bialystok, who helped greatly with the organization of the exhibition "LIFE OF EXTRAORDINARY CATS" at the Embassy.
The exhibition features 16 works which are displayed in an unusual and extraordinary way: each work is exhibited on an easel. The exhibition features also ROCK-CATS works: the portrait of the Polish composer and singer Czesław Niemen, the Beatles and other works.
Site Cats & Dreams features a collection of posters, images, drawings and illustrations by the Belarusian artist Sergey Stelmashonok.
