They say that fishermen and hunters are among the world's greatest storytellers. Every impressive catch grows a little larger with each retelling, while every hunting trip acquires a few extra adventures along the way.

Fairy-tale writers were storytellers too. Whether they were inspired by forests, castles or campfires, they certainly knew how to turn imagination into unforgettable stories. Perhaps that is why fishing and hunting have always been such rewarding subjects for cartoonists: they naturally combine humour, exaggeration and a healthy dose of fantasy.
